Sophia Ricketts is a graduate of Georgia College & State University with bachelor’s degrees in Mass Communication and Rhetoric. While in school, she was actively involved in GCSU’s campus media, including GC360(TV news), The Colonnade(newspaper), and WGUR 95.3 FM(radio), where she served as News Director and General Manager.

Since graduation, Sophia has pursued a career in the communication field. She interned with Troutman Strategies in Washington, D.C. as a Government Relations Associate in fall 2024, and, most recently, worked as an Aide in the Georgia State Senate Press Office during the 2025 Legislative Session.
